Most coffee varieties take three to four years to bear fruit– so stay tuned! Event organizers said this is also an opportunity to practice sustainable agriculture, featuring organic methods, low irrigation needs and lots of compost and mulch. This “test crop” will determine how well the plants grow in campus soil. ’17 (Educational Leadership and Policy Studies) along with students, faculty and staff members donned gloves and grabbed shovels on March 4 to plant 14 different varieties of coffee bean plants.
